Fiordland National Park provides a wide range of hunting opportunities. Our area is a popular place for hunting red deer, wapiti, and in certain areas, wild pigs and chamois. People come from all over New Zealand and indeed the world, to hunt in the park. Our lodge is well positioned to cater for hunters and their itineraries. It’s an ideal location for day hunts with nightly return to the lodge for meals and hot showers, or as a base for cars and gear for over-night or multi day trips. An onsite helipad means hunters can be picked up and dropped off onsite, or the adjacent boat ramp is perfect for boat access hunting. We can connect you with the right agencies and information to make sure you have a memorable and productive time hunting in Fiordland National Park.

Fiordland National Park is world renowned for fishing and we are right on its doorstep. Its iconic rivers are famed for their beauty, scenery, remoteness and of course fish. The rivers and lakes are well-stocked with brown and rainbow trout and has something for all abilities. We are next to the boat ramp at Te Anau Downs, the last spot from which to launch your boat before Milford Sound. The lodge has plenty of space for boats. Here are some of our favourites to check out:

The Eglinton River

The Eglinton is a world class premier trout fishing destination. Restricted to fly fishing, it has beautifully clear waters, good trout population and over 30kms of territory. The Eglinton flows from Lake Gunn and varies in character as it meanders towards Lake Te Anau. The mouth of the Eglinton is 10mins up the road from the lodge.

The Clinton

The lower reaches of the Clinton meanders beside the start of the Milford track at the top end of

Lake Te Anau.  It is justifiably famous for its brown trout population, and offers some of the finest angling to be had. Fly fishing and spinfishing are effective.

The Worsley

The Worlsey is a true wilderness river, unique and scenic. It offers outstanding angling and plenty of

opportunity. A fishing paradise, not to be missed. Bast access only.
